About Us

J and D Reptiles ( J and D stands for Jungle and Desert) was founded in 2007 by Jeremy Turgeon.  We are a small breedery with only one 10' x 12'  room filled wall to wall with racks for our breeders, babies, and incubators.  It's a tight fit in the room, but it all works out.  Each animal gets its own attention, insuring its health and care is optimal.  To see what the room looks like feel free to check us out on youtube by going to www.youtube.com/janddreptiles.  I try to post vids often.
J and D Reptiles is dedicated to public education and premium care of reptiles and amphibians.  We do shows for the public whether it be a Birthday Party, Community Event, etc.  The more people that know about these wonderful creatures, the less likely they are to 1 be afriad of them and 2 want to harm them.
Since we have limited space here, we have to pick certain mutaions to use for breeding.  We try to get basic mutations, which will always look great, but we also try to get higher end mutations.  This way we have a wide range of prices to fit as many people as possible.  Since we are so dedicated to the public learning about herps, and possibly owning some, we want to be sure there is a price to fit everyone!
We breed 15 species of reptiles currently.   We work with:
Ball Pythons
Spotted Pythons
Irian Jaya Carpet Pythons
Coastal Carpet Pythons
Bredli (Centralian) Carpet Pythons
Dumeril's Boas
Brazilian Rainbow Boas
Black Rat Snakes*
Corn Snakes
California Kingsnakes
Western Hognose Snakes
Nelson's Milk Snakes
Pueblan Milk Snakes
Honduran Milk Snakes
Leopard Geckos
These are the only species we have space for at the moment, evetually when we get a larger place, we will expand the number of species.  We also have some other reptiles that are noted on the collection page that we use for shows ONLY.  Those species have a note saying we don't breed them.
When the time comes, we plan on expanding and moving into a larger building to increase our animal slection.  That won't be happening anytime soon, but it is high on the list of new things and improvements for J and D!

We work with 2 mutations of Black Rat Snakes.  White Sided, and Leucistic het White Sided.  Black Rat Snakes are Illegal to own unless they are mutations because they are endangered in the state of MA.  Please note that, if you live in MA, any het or double het animal that I produce will come with my guarantee of its genetics.  You must hold onto thatto verify that your snake, though apearing normal was captive bred and is het for a captive mutation.
About Me

Well let me just say Thanks for visiting the site!  I hope you are enjoying it!  Well Let's start with the basics.  My name is Jeremy Turgeon, and I am the owner/founder of J and D Reptiles.  I founded J and D in 2007, but I have been dealing with reptiles for 13 years.  I have bred reptiles for 6 years as a hobby.  The 2009-2010 season will be my 7th season breeding reptiles.  I started out keeping a Fire-Bellied Toad when I was 4.  A year or so later I got some Green Anoles.  Almost 2.5 years after that, I got my first snake.  My mini-collection was complete.... until the bug set in..LOL.  Now we are up and over 75 reptiles here, and still growing.  I am currently 17 and a Senior in High School.  My dream has become my reality, and I couldn't be happier.  I really enjoy working with reptiles, and pretty much anyone who knows me can tell you it's usually all I talk about!  I am excited about this breeding season, as well as the future of J and D Reptiles.

A HINT OF MY FUTURE PLANS:

Well besides enlarging my business over time, I am planning on going to college.
Something you may not know about me, is I am a trumpeter.  I have played for about 7 years.  I love it.  I am specifically a Jazz, latin funk, and fusion music.  I plan to become aMusic Ed Major in College.  I love being a reptile breeder, don't get me wrong, but I enjoy music so much, I want to make it a part of my future.  Starting this business has given me the opritunity to make Music my career.  I couldn't be happier!  :)  My two passions are both becoming my main life, and that makes my life GREAT!

 -   Jeremy is a very mature young man who is extremely knowledgeable about the reptiles he brings in to show the students. He is patient with the students who have moderate disabilities and answers their questions so they can understand. He is gentle with his reptile population and only brings those animals that he feels will be safe for the children to be around.

Sincerely,

 -   Jeremy speaks so fluently and intellegently that you think you are in a college science class.  Yet, at the same time, he brings a fresh enthusiasm for reptiles.    I would hightly recommend him for work related to caring for reptiles and other animals.  He stands far above other young people with his passion, dedication, and hard work!
