NeverEndingViciousCircleAtJandDReptiles! 7/19/11
I purposely made the title like that! LOL! Ok, so, after coming back from BHB, and being stuck with lots of work to do, I haven't really gotten any time to take a rest! It's pretty tiring work actually! With selling off a bunch of adult snakes, preparing to pay for tables at shows this fall, getting animals back up to breeding size, etc, etc... it's not gonna settle down here until the winter! And even then, it doesn't calm down much! HAHA! There are so many things I am trying to get done here, it feels like a Never Ending Vicious Circle! LOL! There are a few things keeping me sane through all of this... doing the work and focusing on it... lol... having really good and supportive friends, and focusing on some sweet trips I am taking in August!! Tomorrow, I will be going to NERD with my friend Fluffy, who is really getting into the BP scene... and what better way to help him expand his knowledge than going to see the guy who makes dreams come true in the BP world, Mr. Kevin McCurley! LOL In August, I'll be going to PA for a few days with my church, going to NYC with some band buddies, going to NERD a couple times to see babies, and going to CT to visit a friend down there... there are lots of fun things happening before college starts! :) I am very excited to keep things moving! There is an endevour I will be getting into as well... My friend Sharise is an aspiring photographer and takes great shots of reptiles... especially colubrids which tend to be crazy flighty! So, we are going to be discussing starting some Photography things, almost as a subsidiary to J and D Reptiles called JDR Photography! I am really excited to get this underway... I see many great things that can come from it... including more merchandise, and just some wicked awesome photos of reptiles... who doesn't love that?!?! Come on! :) I'll try to keep everyone posted on that as plans develop more! :)

A few changes here at J and D! 7/14/11
Well, after a crazy week in MI, then the NY show and talking with Kevin McCurley, and various other breeders at the show, and via email... I've decided to make a few changes here at J and D Reptiles! If you go to the Available section, and click on snakes, you will see lots of older animals I am selling. I usually don't do that, but I decided to cut back on the single pair stuff that really doesn't help me progress much as a reptile breeder so i can make space for stuff that will! There are some killer deals on the site now for pairs, and single larger animals that can breed now, or by the next season! Grab them while you can! All this is so I can increase the Carpet Python count by 2 adults, and increase the BP count by 10 or so! I will still have a few single pair animals, but for now, I am focusing on a few set species, listed in the History Page! Go see what's going on!!

MI Blog 7!!! 7/9/11
Sorry this is kinda late... LOL! What a day!!! Ok, so I had hoped to do some filming or Youtube at
BHB... I got a quick 2 min thing talking with Brian, but that's about
it. With the holiday and the NY show in the same week, things were
crazier than normal... Lol! So I was able to take pix of things and
such... Got to talk to the crew, etc... All the fun stuff! I got to be
in a SnakeBytesTV shoot!! I'll post that once it is out! Should be
great! I went to sonic for Lunch, then came back and helped Brian pack
for the NY show.... During that time I got a call from my friends taking
care if my reptiles saying there was a power surge at my house, and one
wall of my snake room was not working... The wall with the Baby Python
Rack, the Burm and Carpets, etc... So I had to end my trip today to
drive home and see what is going on... It's a bit of a bummer, but in
the end, tomorrow would have been slow cuz the only thing going on would
be packing for NY and then Brian leaving at like 11AM... So it wasn't
that bad... I got a few pics of cool stuff... This was the trip of a
lifetime for me!!! Happy to be headed home, but I'm really gonna miss
being in the company of some of the coolest people. Huge thanks to my
mom for making this possible and to the Barczyk family for making us
feel so welcome while being out here! :)

MI Blog 6!!! 7/6/11
Today was a day to remember!!! I had to deal with Satan!!! YAY!!! Took me a while to get the feel of a big aggressive snake like that... took some really close calls... but survived with no bites!! Not something I wanna do again however! LOL! I was running on adrenaline for like 5 hours AFTER dealing with her! XD After that, I spent the day talking with the guys at the shop... I needed to focus on something other than my intense Burm experience! So, that was cool... at the end of the day, I took some pics of some killer BP babies. Then Brian, Jade, Brandon and I went to Down Town Detroit! That was cool. Got to see and go into the GM building... see the slums.. LMAO... and the nicer parts of MI. Pretty cool stuff! Tomorrow, I will be taping some stuff, and maybe being in a future SnakeBytesTV show since they are filming tomorrow! Hoping it happens! LOL! Got to talk with some friends back home as well! I'll post updates on FB and Twitter when I can! :D

SO today was a fun day for sure!! Really got some work done today! Replaced some hose reels in the Python room today... then did the lovely mite provention spraying in about 400 baby BPs... then refreshed the air in ALL the colubrid eggs... about 20,000 eggs and 300 or so containers! LOL! WOW! What a job! For those who say it is easy... think again!! XD That was basically all for the day! Oh... almost forgot... I got to see and talk with Chewy today!!! LOL! He rocks man! XD Tomorrow, I'll be there from 9-5 cleaning, egg collecting, etc... then Brian is taking me to Downtown Detroit to see the city! SUPER EXCITED! Friday I plan on hitting up the Detroit Zoo... pix and vid from there for sure! :D Hitting the middle of this vacation is bitter sweet for sure! But I'm making the best of every day until I go back! :)

Today was a really chill day... went out for breakfast again... then went to Barnes and Noble Book Store... then Went to BHB and pulled some clutches with Brian! After that, we went to his house and chilled for a few. Went with him to get his Son Noah, and Nephew, Jake... then we met up with my mother and saw Transformers 3D!!! It was an awesome movie! After the movie, I came back to the Hotel, and have been updating the site, and posting on Forums! Tomorrow I'll be at BHB from 11Am to whenever... Brian is gonna pick me up from the Hotel, then we are gonna get new hoses for the shop, then off to work! Pics will be taken... and maybe video as well!!

MI Blog 3!! 7/3/11
Today was a fun day for sure! Had breakfast at Denny's with my mother, then met with Brian at the shop around 11ish. We pulled about 20+ Colubrid clutches, and a couple BP clutches. Got out around 1PM, then went to Lori's Fathers house for a cookout! met more of their family, from the US AND Canada!! It was fun!! At about 10PM Brian and his father in law started lighting fireworks... I got to play the National Anthem before they started... right when I finished, they exploded a 1/4 stick of TNT, then went into the fireworks! Awesome stuff! Great conversations as usual!! Can't wait for tomorrow!! Probably going to collect more clutches, then not sure... possibly going to see Transformers 3 with Brian and maybe his son Noah?! Then possibly going back to his house to hang! :D I'll get pics for sure!

MI Blog 2! 7/3/11
Ok, so the first real day of hanging out with Brian was great! I got to go through and see all the snake rooms!! WOW! LOL! So much stuff! I got to do some work as well. I watered about 400 baby Ball Pythons, then we collected about 20 or so Colubrid clutches! It was fun for sure. Then we went out to eat for lunch. After lunch I went back to the Hotel with my mom, and we chilled for about an hour or so. Then we went to Lori's moms house for a surprise Birthday Party for Lori! That was fun! It was awesome to go there... Lori's mom lives in Brian's old house, so I got to see the ORIGINAL Barczyk home!!! What an experience! Then, I went to the Current Barczyk manner to watch a UFC fight with Brian and some of his family and friends! Didn't get home until about 1AM, but it was great! Definitely am having a great ass time here in MI. Today we are going to the shop for an hour or so to check for eggs, then we are going to Lori's dad's house for a cookout, and fireworks tonight! :D YES! I'll try to get pics!!! I'll be taking vids Tuesday when BHB is back on a normal schedule. One of the things I love the most, is just talking with Brian. He knows so much about the industry, he has so many views on things, it never gets tiring! No wonder he is so well known, he gets his fingers into a lot of pies! LOL! I've learned so much in just the last 2 days, than I think I have in years! LOL!

Trip to MI Blog 1! (Copied from FB) 7/2/11
Ok, so yesterday we got here in MI! After a trip that lasted a total of 15 hours because of stops, we had finally made it! We got into the hotel, checked in, and settled. I called Brian to tell him we got in, and he gave us an option, chill here at the Hotel and relax, or meet with him for a few while he finished work. I hated to intrude on his work, but I wanted to meet with him, see where the building was, etc. I was sure glad we went! We pretty much planned out the whole week! I love his hospitality! I don't think I've met a nicer guy! And, got to see Kel... LOL... He randomly popped out of the back while we were talking with Brian. Cleaning and feeding snakes, looking at snakes, fireworks, gonna try to hit up Down Town Detroit, go see the new Transformers Movie, chill at his house on the 4th, so many things!! It's gonna be a week of BHB meets J and D that will not be forgotten! Today we are going to the shop around 9:30 to work with the snakes...gonna be a full day of work pretty much... it's the holiday weekend, so I am sure things will be more laid back.... I'm sure about that cuz he said so! HAHA! Either way, I'll be posting blog every night here, and copying it to my web site, so people can see what is going on while I am here! This should be fun! :D

A Year Like No Other.... 5/31/11 This year has truey been one for the books. Between deaths in my family, new animals I purchased, breeding snakes, eggs, hatchlings, turmoil with friends, etc... it's been a bit nuts! All things aside though, it's been pretty damn good! This years season has not been as productive as I was hoping. lots of snakes didn't produce the way I was expecting, meaning I won't have a whole heck of a lot to sell this year. On a lighter note, there are lots of awesome projects for the future! One thing I have always learned is that, you need to look at the positive, no matter what negative stuff is happene opr happening, the positive is the light to get you through the dark!

Quite a Few Clutches!!! 5/17/11
Well, there are 3 BP clutches out on the ground! All due in Early to mid July. Bearded Dragons have Hatched and are doing great! There are a few colubrid clutches out too! With the recent changes in the market, I've downsized a lot, so this year is going to be another "half assed" year for production! I have lots and lots of snakes to use for breeding, but lots of those lots and lots are still juvies and sub adults! LOL! Next year, there will be a few more females breeding! Anyway... focusing on this year... Western Hognose Snakes are due out soon! I believe the end of this week, or the middle of next week! I can't wait. A couple of the eggs have gone bad, but most of them are still doing well! PLUS, the hognose double clutched and gave me NINE MORE EGGS!!! So a total of 23 eggs in one season from this female hog! Most of those eggs are bad, but there are a few good ones! Should be fun!!! I've very excited to see what genetics my female has.... her Red Phase to me, from last years clutch seems to be at least dominant... hoping for Co-Dom and to get a super!! NEW MORPH!!! LOL. Well, there is my wishful thinking! Anyways... hope everyone is having a good season!

FIRST BP CLUTCH OUT! 5/10/11
Finally! I feel like I am back in the game here! LOL! My first femaale BP dropped her clutch this morning! She was the smaallest female I bred... she was only about 1350 grams. She dropped 3 eggs and one slug. All in all a decent clutch. She didn't lose much weight either. Praying for 1.2 in this clutch because these are all hold backs! :) Possible DH Caramel Pieds! Let's see if I get REALLY lucky! XD

Been A While Again!! 5/9/11
Well, there are a lot of things going on here! Unfortunately we recently lost our Black and White Tegu, Arwen. She passed from unknown causes. It's a huge loss for us here at J and D Reptiles, and the community! Arwen appeared on local TV shows, News stations, public events, etc. She was a great animal for sure! On a lighter note, we have lots of eggs in the incubator... about 57 eggs cookin now... and there are still more eggs to be laid... looks like we will breech 100 eggs this season! Should be fun! Plus the other stuff we have for sale. Our first babies will be a bunch of Bearded Dragons from a pairing project I did with a friend. Should be awesome! Then, we should have Western Hognose Snakes Hatching, then Corns, etc, etc. Ball Python Eggs are 2 days away from being laid... feel really behind on those guys... but it should pay off in the end! :) The schedule for me is getting tighter now, so if you are interested in doing a show, B-Day Party, or other Public Event, please contact me ASAP! :)
Thanks,

Over a Month?!?! 4/19/11
Man... stuff has been busy as Hell here! OK... so lets make an update here... I have a clutch of Beardies in the incubator from a project I did with a friend... they are due in a month. Also, my Western Hognose female dropped a clutch of 14 eggs!! They are due around the same time as the Beardies. Also, 3 female BPs have done Pre-Lay Sheds... so, we are about 22 days away from the 1st BP clutch. Also, my Lemon Pastel, and one of my larger Normals, are starting to ovulate! I have Colubrids still breeding as well. My Opal Corn is about 10 days from Dropping her clutch of about 15-20 eggs! My Butter Corn is swelling up as well. My Cal King should be going into a pre-Lay shed very soon... her clutch will be about 8-10 eggs! Waiting to see swelling in my Hondo, and Nelson's Female... hoping that happens soon. Today, I'll be making vids for YouTube, which should be fun, also having some friends over... more fun! HAHA! Not sure what's going on with the Carpet Pythons... UGH... those things keep my mind going... LOL! Also, I'll be started to pair up Leopard Geckos! So hopefully we will have some geckos for sale soon! Lots of stuff is going on here this year! Should be a fun time! :) Plus, it's spring time, which means that B-Day Parties and events can be done outside!!! Start Spreading the word! :)

Hmmm... 3/5/11
I was thinking today about having a breeding season seem to go well, and then having it end not exactly how you planned it to. For instance with my Carpet Pythons... I saw multiple locks, but my females just didn't take at all... and I was assuming they would?!?! My Centralian Carpet looks pretty plump still and I can feel her folicles getting bigger, but I also bred my Coastal female, and got nothing from her. Now with my Ball Pythons, I have a lot of females that are JUST STARTING to produce folicles... and they have been breeding for 3 MONTHS!!! I had assumed I'd have eggs by now based on previous years and seasons... usually I have at least one or two clutches in the incubators by now! My Rainbow Boa is still looking Prego... she hasn't really eaten much and is very plump, and you can see pumps in her... so hoping I get something from that! Now, it's colubrid time... I don't have as many Corns as I did last year, so I won't have as many babies as previous years. I'm praying things pick up this year! I had such high hopes and it seems like this year may give lots of duds??? Trying to keep my head in the positive, but the ever reliable backhand of reality is sticking close!

An Interesting Topic... 2/26/11
Just spent the last hour or so messaging with a buddy from FaceBook, and we were talking about the reptile market, and what we see going on in it. I spent a few minutes in my snake room looking at everything and thinking where we were going. I want my collection to expand but I need to tweek the numbers... LOL! So I'm going to touch on 2 topics here, and will be talking about them in my next YouTube vids, and TV Show Episodes. First point.... It seems like there are a lot of "new faces" in the market. A lot of new people... especially teens starting up websites and saying that they own businesses. I personally think it's great that there are a lot of people getting into the hobby... however... if you don't own a business... don't say you do... LOL! In past conversations with some reptile breeders who have been around for decades... they have said that a lot of new guys never last very long because they try to get into the national market with Pastel BPs and Albino het Snow Corns and try to sell them right at the high points of the market prices. Then they get angry when they can't sell them. This may not be true for all of those people, but it will be a harsh reality for a lot of them! Also... there seems to be a lot of new people who seem more money oriented than really passionate about the reptiles. My second topic is the Market has made some crazy moves recently!!! Blood Pythons, Carpet Pythons, Burms, Hognoses, and a few other species that seemed to be on the "back burner" are coming back strong!! Where as other species are now taking the back burner except for those who produce them on large quantities. I'm talking about Cal. Kings, some species of Milk Snakes, and some less common snakes that I work with are becoming less popular. This is what i meant by tweeking the numbers... It's time I looked at the inventory and moved some things. This time of year market changes always happen, but this one is really big, and I think the market will stay this way for quite some time! These are stressful times for sure, but also kinda fun because it gives me a chance to "start fresh" in the market with certain species. Also makes me think... should I focus on just a few species rather than a large number of species.... interesting topics that make me pull my hair out, and loose lots and lots of sleep... but I love the job, and this is just one of the many bumps involved in it! Stay tuned for vids and episodes regarding these topics as well! If you want to become a breeder, or know someone who does... you will want to see what is said for sure! :)

I just got an e-mail to appear on the MASSAPPEAL show on Channel 22 today! I was on the show over the Summer back in July... the link to that segment is on the

I have prided Myself, and the status of J and D Reptiles on proper education of reptiles. The more people know, the better off everyone is, including the reptiles! I am super excited to do this show again! I had a great response the last time! Let's see how this one goes! We will be shooting on 3/4/11 at 11AM! If you aren't local or miss the show, I'll be posting the link up on the Home Page here and on Face Book! :)

Things are Falling Into Place!!! :) 2/24/11
Well, it's later in the python breeding season, and now females are showing signs of preparing to ovulate... later than usual for me... LOL! So Pythons will be available later in the year. Guess it happens sometimes... but you know what... I'm just happy they are going to ovulate and produce for me... I was getting nervous! LOL! Colubrids are starting to breed here as well! Some Corn Snakes, Cali. Kings, Hondo Milks, Nelsonii Milks, Western Hogs, etc. Should be a fun year!!! I have to say though, I am dissappointed that I haven't been on the forums as much as I wanted to be. I had a couple weeks of free time to be on there, and now things keep popping up... between snakes, music, college stuff, etc... My goal was to be more involved this year on the forums... hoping things will change on that subject! Well, other than that... things are going great! :) Fingers crossed the hets prove out, and we get Caramel Albinos and Pieds!!! :)

CRAZY BALL PYTHONS!! 12/22/10
Well, as I posted back on the 17th, our BP stock was getting a "facelift"!! We got 3 awsome snakes from NERD! Before I even tell you, I was to thank 2 people.... 1st my bro Nelson for the cash to get the snakes.... second, the EVIL MORPH GOD HIMSELF for taking the time to show us the snakes, and give us a great deal!!! Ok, so we got a reverse trio of Ball Pythons... ready to hear what they are??? 1.0 Enchi poss het pied.... 1.0 Spinner Blast (Pastel Spider Pinstripe).... 0.1 Super Phantom possible Mojave! CRAZY STUFF!!! The Enchi PHP is about breeder size, so we will be breeding him to a normal to get some Enchi females! I am super excited about these guys! They will really help get us out there in the market of BPs since not a lot of people are working with Phantom stuff! The future looks high and Bright for BP breedings here for the 2012 season!!!

Where have I Been??? 12/17/10
I've been super busy here between snake stuff, and preparing for college! Sorry for my absence! Pythons are breeding a lot here! We have a lot of new snakes... getting a few new ones in the very near future to enhance our breeding stock! Colubrids are brumating... should be a good season for colubrids in the spring as well! Got some cool future colubrids projects going too! Deppei jani, Hypo Lampropeltis Pyromelena Pyromelena, etc! FUN STUFF! This year is gonna be great! Finger are also crossed to be proving out het pieds and het caramels so I can remove all the hets in my collection! HAHA! But, that's what is going on for right now... LOL... I'll try to post more often since work is slowing a bit! :)

Been a while for sure! 10/28/10
I've been trying to do the blog thing here as often as possible, sometimes though, I just don't have time... or I simply forget! LOL! Basically, Python Breeding Season is starting... I have lots of pairings of BPs and a couple cool Moreli Projects! Very excited about what thios year has to offer! I'll soon be buying the last few Pythons for the collection... a Male Mojave BP (to replace the one that passed), a Female YB BP from some friends in NY, and a Male Coastal Jag Carpet from BHB! The only other things to get after that, are a couple colubrid things... nothing super crazy though! :) Definitely gonna be fun! I am really excited! There will be some new YouTube vids posted within the next week or so, so please, as always, stay tuned for that! :) Hope everyone is as excited about this years season as I am! :)

Making a few Changes! 10/10/10
Well, Python breeding has started here... Carpets, BPs, and soon BRBs. Found out some crappy news about Dumeril's Boas... because they are in the Red Data Book Restricted List, They are actually a species that can't be owned in MA at all, so we are no longer working with them. HUGE BUMMER!!! I am cutting down a lot of Corn Snakes too!! I produced way to many, and am having trouble selling, so I am cutting back HUGE on the corns to ensure this doesn't happen again. So I'll be getting some less common colubrids in the near future. That will be interesting! :) Just wanted to post an update since it's been a while.

Getting a jump start!! 9/15/10
There are a few python breedings going on now!!! Nice early start to the next season!! I feel early eggs and sense good genetic outsomes in my future...LOL... I hope!!! HAHA! In only about 2 months, Pythong breeding will be in full swing, as well as boa breeding and Colubrid Brumation!!! WOW! Seems like I just hatched out all my colubrids!!! LOL! Brazilian Rainbow Boas (Orange Normal X Maroon Normal)
Dumeril's Boas (Normal X Normal)
Coastal Carpet Pythons (High Contrat Normal X High Contrast Normal)
Centralian Carpet Pythons (Normal X Normal)
Ball Pythons!! Lots of Ball Pythons!! I'll list what we are expecting rather than pairings...
Normals, Reduceds, Pieds, het Pieds, Caramels, Het Caramels, Cinnies, Lemon Pastels, Lemon Pewters, Shatters, Spiders, Shatter Spiders, Mojaves, and maybe a suprise or two??
And then in the spring... COLUBRIDS!!! I'll post info on tehm when the time comes! :)

A Lot Goin On! 7/21/10
Lots, and lots going on.... it turns out our Butter Motley Clutch also had Snow Motleys! So our adults are also het anery!! We also hit a 1 in 16 chance snake to.... the Butter Snow Motley or Xanthic Snow Motley! Super Exciting! We are keeping her to breed into our Butter Stripe! FUN! We are bulking colubrids up for the cooling season in only a couple months.... WOW, doesn't seem like it's been that long???? Also Bulking up the last few female BPs for breeding this fall/winter as well.... again... I can't believe it's that time again!! LOL. Lots of cool projects for us in 2011!!! We will be producing more babies in the 2011 season than ever before... with an estimated 250 babies!!! WOW! Lots of mouths to feed! But that's not for a while... to focus on the present now... this Friday we will be adding a male NERD line Lemon Pastel to our collection of BPs!! We will also be getting some sub-adult Spotted Pythons this weekend! Some awsome new additions to the mix here! I love my Aussie Pythons! :) We will also be vending in NH at the All New England Reptile Expo on 10/2/10. Info can be found at
www.reptileexpo.com and we may also be vending at the Massachusetts Reptile Expo in Weymouth, MA... hope I spelled that right! LOL. More info can be found at
www.neherp.com or the New England Herpetological Society! That expo is on 10/11/10! We will be vending at both expos for sure in the spring as well! Very exciting stuff going on here!! Today I also posted a couple more youtube vids that were requested of me to make... head to
www.youtube.com/janddreptiles and check those out as well! Also, tomorrow I'll be on 22News on the show MassAppeal with some of the snakes! We will be talking about J and D Reptiles, Owning Reptiles, and coving the main theme/topic "So your child wants a reptile?!" Should be fun!! Well, as you can see, I am super busy here, so I must get back to work, but I wanted to keep you all informed about the awesomeness going on here at J and D! Thanks for all the continued Support!

Been A While... 7/13/10
Well, since that BP clutch, out 95% of our Colubrids have hatched!!! We have tons and tons of corn snakes, some cal kings.... we are waiting on two more clutches to be laid, then thats it! We probably have around 40+ corns out so far! It's great! I'm happy to say our Butters 66% het Motley, proved out for me! ALL the babies are Butter Motleys! I couldn't be happier! We went to the NY Reptile Expo on 7/11/10, we added some awsome BPs from BHB to the collection! Mojave, Pinstripe, het pieds, etc! Great stuff! I gotta actually be getting off.... gotta start putting some 9 day old corns in their own individual containers! Until they shed, we keep them together, then we separate them! Corns will start being available in the next 2-3 weeks! :)

It's Started!! :) 6/27/10
Today started off great! We got a nice clutch of Ball Python eggs at 7:30 AM! Clutch of 6 perfectly healthy eggs. Can't wait for these little ones. But, today, baby corn snakes started to hatch! 2 are completely out of the egg, and we are waiting for the other 11! I can't wait for these guys to be out! They are all albinos... but different lines of albinos. So the babies will be different intensities of albino! Very cool stuff. Babies, babies, Babies!!!!! Now the craziness begins! :)

Fun is about to begin!! 6/13/10
Well, we have baby BPs out, and are starting to eat. The IJ I have been posting in my vids will soon be for sale... well only that one pair I mentioned... not both pairs...LOL. It is about to be the time of real fun! Hatching out colubrids! July is the month for all the colubrid eggs to hacth! This means about 50 babies are due to hatch in one month, which is nothing compared to a place like BHB, but is surely a lot for a smaller breeder like me! We are also due to have another clucth. My het albino female is going to lay again. Also the female hondo in the vids I posted that was gravid, then not gravid, is gravid....LOL. The same thing happened last year. She looks gravid, then looks normal, then is gravid...LOL. So she is due to lay eggs soon. And one more BP is due to lay eggs. Lots to do, lots to take care of, and lots to sell! I love this time of year! For all those people who go to the NH reptile expo, I do plan on vending there, for the first time. I plan on having lots and lots of corns, so corn people, come by and buy some corns! LOL!
-Jeremy T.

Man, it's been about a month!? 5/30/10
Man, I cannot believe it has been about a month since my last blog entry. Well, a quick update.... most of our eggs are laid. I am waiting on the last corn clutch due any day, and a BP due to drop in about 4.5 weeks. We have 52 eggs in incubation so far. With the other clutches will make it about 70 eggs or so, most from the Corn snake obviously. Lots, and lots of eggs. Our first clutch of BPs is due to hatch in just a few days! I'll have pics on facebook, and youtube vids of babies as soon as they are out! For more up-to-date info on J and D Reptiles news, please add us on Facebook. Both my personal page, and the J and D Reptiles Page! Pics are uploaded often! Also, the weather is much nicer now, so we are able to do shows at schools, events, etc, etc. If you know of someone who would enjoy this, send them this way! :) Have a great Memorial Day!

Been a While. 5/3/10
It has been a while since I have posted a blog. But better late than never! Things have been pretty crazy here. My big female BP hasn't dropped yet, but I am pretty sure it's because she is soo big, sometimes larger girls have longer to lay. So I am still waiting there. HOWEVER! I have some colubrid clutches a week earlier than expected! My Opal Corn Just laid her clutch today! 13 eggs and 1 slug. She wasn't the biggest girl, so this was a big clutch. I bred her to my Albino 66% het Motley. So Everything we get will be Albino 100% het Lavender 33% het motley. It'll be a good clutch! Also one of the Pueblans that I have on breeder loan laid a clutch of 5 eggs and 1 slug. Very nice clutch from her. She laid on 4/30. In the next week we should have another Corn clutch from my Het Albino I bred to the same sire I bred with my Opal. Very good season! I am very excited! Check out my facebook for pics of the opal with her clutch!
Take care,

Back Home! 4/25/10
Well, I am back home from performing with the Mass. Lions All-State Band. It was a crazy week. Got back yesterday evening, ate supper, then went to bed! Today, I am cleaning snakes... and contrary to my usual routine I am feeding snakes Monday. They need food... and today went to cleaning them all... so, tomorrow it is! Today is going good though! We just got in some Irian Jaya Carpet Pythons! My friend Shakeem came by and let me get the pic of the litter from a 2 day old clutch of IJs. I don't mind starting them, carpets aren't usually picky eaters. But the best part of them is thier line. They are a cross of Anthony Capp. line and Jay McLear Line IJs! Very powerful normal lines... they look great! The female I picked is the best of the clutch hands down! I'll try to get pic here soon, if they aren't on here in the next day or so go to my facebook page and check for my recent photo uploads... I should have a couple there. It's easier for me to upload pics from my phone right to FB than to take the pic with my camera, e-mail it tomyself, then save it on my desktop, then save it to the websites storage, then upload it to the site. LOL. Anyway... stay tuned in for more updates in the near future! :)

Crazy Week! 4/21/10
Well this week, was supposed to be my Spring Break, but as usual my hopeful free time has been used up by something... not happy about it, but... eh... whatever. I am rehearsing, and playing with a Band in Marlboro, MA until Saturday. We have a performance Friday, and then another one on Saturday. I'll be back in the late evening. Then, Saturady, I'll have to clean everything! And Sunday, feed all the snakes! Then Monday is back to school. What a great "vacation" HAHA. Oh well. Next week we should have our chameleons in! I'll post updates and pics as soon as we get them! If you noticed the change to the Collection list for BPs, we now have a Woma Ball Python. I have posted pics of her on facebook. You can check her out, by going to the links page, click on the facebook link and go into my mobile uploads! She is a gorgeous snake! :)

Long Day Yesterday! 4/19/10
Yesterday was the New York Metro Reptile Expo. I had a great time! I love the NY show because I meet most of my fellow youtubers and J and D Followers there! :) I love the support, and being able to inspire so many people to own herps. At the show, I also got to catch up with Brian Barczyk from BHB Enterprises. He also did a segment with me for my Local Access TV show! :) He is an awsome guy! Anyway, I picked up all my Chameleon Suplies, and should be getting the chameleons next week! :) At the end of the show I also got an 09 Woma Ball Python from Brian. It's a little female. I plan on breeding her with my Bumble Bee Male. Should be an interesting pairing in a couple years! :)

Oh Happy Day!! 4/13/10
Well, I finally got it! I got a Permit from the Mass Division of Fisheries and Wildlife to own Panther Chameleons. In the State of MA, there are certain animals you cannot own without a permit issued by Mass Division of Fisheries and Wildlife. Chameleons are one of those species of animals. We will soon own 2 beautiful Blue Bar Ambilobe Panther Chameleons. They will both be males. I have no plan on breeding these. Incubation time is close to a year, and don't want to wait that long, plus baby chameleons aren't easy to care for. LOL!! We can use them for educational shows, and they are a pleasure to keep! :)
I'll post pics when we get them!

Colubrid breeding is going great! This is a mini-update. For more consistant updates follow me on FaceBook, and Twitter. But breeding is going great! I have witnessed several breedings from kings, corns and milks! :) I am very excited about the offspring to come! We are also breeding Leopard Geckos as of a few days ago. SO Leos will be available around the same times as snakes! Stay tuned here, on facebook, twitter and MySpace for updates more often! :)

Colubrid Breeding Season has Begun! 3/28/10
Well it is finally here! I love colubrid breeding season. I don't like the genetics, since they are all simple recessive morphs, and I really hate working with hets! HAHA! But I have just introduced a pair of Pueblan Milk Snakes a few hours ago, and already caught them breeding! :) I am super excited! I love breeding Lampropeltis! :) I love seeing the tri-colored heads pop out of the eggs! :) Anyway... next up is Corn Snakes and Honduran Milk Snakes tomorrow! Then next week Cali-kings. Cali-Kings are starting later because the female is in shed, and she needs to eat before breeding so she doesn't have the urge to eat the male. LOL. Anyway, I'll post more updates as the season continues. If you want to see the pairings of Pueblans go to Youtube and check out the vid I have posted of them! :)

Eggs SOON!!!! 3/27/10
Our first clutch of eggs will be here in 14 days now! My smaller female Ball Python is Due to drop her clutch of eggs on April 10th! I am very excited! She was bred to a Pastel male. Nothing too special, but I love pastels! I am expecting a 3-4 egg clutch from this girl. She isn't the largest female, but still a nice looking normal! The next clutch will be from my GIANT female. She is in her Pre-Lay shed now. So she will lay sometime in Early May. She was also bred to a Pastel, but also to a Co-Dom Black Back. SO we can get Pastels, Black Backs, and Normals. Nothing to spectacular for BPs this year, next year, we will have much more like Cinnies, Lemon Pastels, Lemon Pewters, Pieds, het Pieds, Caramels, het Caramels. Although... If I get Caramels and Pieds, I may keep them for myself! HAHA! Besides the BPs, Colubrid Breeding Starts for me in a few days! Starting with Corn Snakes. I am expecting Butter Motleys, Butter's het Motley, Albinos, het Ablinos, and Albinos het Lavender or het Opal, however you want to call them. All the Albino and het Albino offspring will also be possible het Motleys! I have a lot of the Motley gene in my Corns! Again Next year will be a bit more interesting. Going to add some Caramels het Butter Motley into the offspring list, as well as others. Then there is the California Kings... just Lavender Albinos from them... although, they will be het Lavender Snow! :) Also have some Pueblan Milks expected to. Normals and Apricots. Finally, got some Honduran Milk Snakes. Just Tangerines again this season. The fun stuff is next year! LOL. Ghosts, Hypos, Anerys, Tangerines, Tangerine Albinos, etc. So a pretty low level year morph wise... but a lot of babies! hehe! Stay tuned to the blog here for updates, as well as youtube! Now there is also a J and D Reptiles Page on Face Book you can become a fan of! I'll have updates there as well!
Thanks,

Meant to put this up a while ago... 3/14/10
So a while ago I started e-mailing again with a kid I did a Party for a while back. He sent me this awsome Poem I had to post on here! Take a Look! It's Called REPTILES ROCK! Right there, I already like it! haha
REPTILES ROCK!
ESPECIALLY
PETS THAT ARE SNAKES
THE BEST PETS ARE THE SNAKES
IN CAGES THEY LOOK SCARY
LET THE RED TEGU CALM YOU DOWN
EVENTUALLY LOSE YOUR STRESS
SO LOVE SNAKES THEY DON’T MAKE A SOUND
I mean how can you not love a Poem like that!!!! :D A big thanks to Jack D. for writing it!
Nothing to sell so far!?!?! 3/1/10
I have gotten a lot of questions about how I can have soo many herps, and habe one thing posted for sale currently! Let me make it clear.... The reptiles I have here are for BREEDING PURPOSES! I am a reptile breeder, not a pet store, I produce my own animals, I don't get them from wholesalers to resell them at a ridiculous price! I am a very easy going person, but I have gotten a lot of e-mails, Youtube messages, etc about this, so I wanted to address it! Currently, I am still waiting for Pythons to drop eggs... This season, stupid me forgot to take notes and record all the breeding info for my pythons, SO, I am really playing a waiting game with my pythons for their eggs. I'm not sure how well the season will play out because of this. Let it be known that if you decide to breed, keep good notes on the breedings!! Luckily I have the space to redeem myself with colubrids which are being bulked for breeding later on. So, with all this being said, later this year I should have much more available. As always I can always help you with any questions regarding where you can get good herps for a good price! Thanks for reading my venting...LMAO! ; )

Quick 11 Days! 2/28/10
WOW, the past 11 days have seemed to just fly by! It's March tomorrow!! Well it's official, colubrids are out of brumation and are warming up. They are all looking for food, and have been telling my by adding a few bites to my hands...LOL. It happens, no big deal. I am excited to get started on breeding them this year! Also, I am getting out of Rhacodactylids...With 12 Leos, and 2 Beardies, plus Leo babies, I am going through crickets like nothing. Since I have delt with Leos for 10 years, and enjoy working with them a bit more than Cresties, I am sticking with them. So, for thouse of you Rhac. keepers, sorry but I won't have any available anymore. But as always I can point you in the direction of someone who has them. Let's see, what am I missing here? Oh, my second TV shoot is today... it'll be on feeding snakes! Excited about that! Some may have noticed I have been a bit absent from youtube.... I have been sooo busy, making vids and getting them up hasn't been on my top priority list. I am hoping to make a vid today to post on there just as an update to things. ANyway, without the risk of going on forever, that is where we are headed, and as always stay alert for more posts here! :)

Good Day! 2/17/10
Wow, today went really well! I did my first TV shoot for Central MA Local Access! Should be great! The shoot was basically some quick info on some of the more common, and some uncommon herps. It was fun! The next shoot will be on 2/28/10 and will be a shoot on the 3 best beginner herps... Ball Pythons, Corn Snakes, and Leopard geckos. They are, in my opinion, the best reptiles for youngsters, as well as new people to the hobby. They are smaller reptiles, that are easy to care for, great fora first breeding project, and come in MANY colors for all price ranges! Should be really fun to continue. in the warmer weather we will do Live shows at the station, and do live call ins for those who have questions! Awsome stuff! When I get DVD copies of the shows I'll try to post them on youtube for those of you not local to Central MA.

Hopeing for the Best! (Breeding Update) 2/14/10
Ok, so my Python breeding season is at the final stretch here. It is time to wait for eggs. UGH! I hate this part of the job. I am also getting an early start on my colubrids! I started cooling early, so I am warming soon! Which means time to feed an extra 30 snakes..LMAO! I have some projects for me this year in my colubrids, but I'm expecting a lot, so there will hopefully be plenty. But, back to Pythons... So, I have 2 BPs that are due to lay soon... After the pre-lay shed those 30-50 days or so can be killer waiting for the clutch! I find myself searching in there waiting for those big ol' eggs. Everyday, I am hopeful, but so far NADA!! AHHH! LOL. Well it is all part of the job, and you can't force the eggs out, so gotta wait! It'll all be worth it in the end! I am really excited to see the clutch from my BIG normal female that now weighs like 7 pound.... she usually weighs 5.5, she hasn't eaten at all since her pre-lay shed. She has recently been moving around the enclosure a lot, which I have found to be an indicator they will be laing very soon! The only thing that throws me off, she is soooo big, there is very little building visible, but she has gotta have lots of eggs, since she has gained 1.5 pounds, and hasn't eaten in weeks! Also, got a female that just started breeding about a month ago... she has unreceptive until then, but now she is locked up every day just about! That is GREAT! So fingers crossed for plentiful BPs this year! Unfortunately My Macklott's Python isn't gravid.... she ovulated, but she is back on food, and not showing any more signs of being gravid. My Coastal Carpet is showing the signs of being gravid, but not building like I'd expected. Fingers crossed for some good eggs! I also just put together the first group of cresteds that are ready to breed... gonna get some nice morphs hopefully! :)
Take care,
Jeremy T.

Hate Waiting for Eggs! 2/12/10
Well, I am still waiting for my python eggs.... the female what was supposed to lay on the 3rd hasn't laid yet, but she has had a slower folicle growth than my others. She is finally glowing, and growing where where eggs are! She should lay soon, as well as the other pythons! Can't wait! Well things are going good, finally cleaning the reptile room itsself, the walls, floor, etc... looks a lot nicer now! LOL. Well stay tuned for new vids soon, and more updates on breeding!

NY Reptile Show! 1/24/10
Well today was one of those days where I had to get up at like 4AM to get ready for NY! We went to pick up some friends, stopped in a DnD for breakfast, and off we went! It was a long trip, but I always like it! It was nice to see Brian and Lori again, and their Balls...LMAO. The gorgeous Pewterpagne BP was there for a nice hefty 12,500.00, gotta love those BHB creations! Had a great show, also got to see Kati from Kati's Cresteds. I haven't seen her in a while, so it was nice to catch up and see the incredible geckos she had!! I did pick up a few new things. Four new things to be exact. I will be making vids tomorrow and posting them in the evening, on what I got, so check out
www.youtube.com/janddreptiles for the "inside scoop"! lol. I will also be putting up those other long awaited herp vids I haven't been able to do! I am no longer cramming for orchestra rehearsals, or all states, or anything, so I have some time to get the vids done... it will be short lived time, but time never-the-less! SO check out youtube about this time tomorrow, and there should be some new vids up! :)
Thanks All,

A Good Day! :) 1/3/10
Well today was good. LOL. Unfortunately it is my last day of vacation, but it ended well! I have a new BP vid on youtube now, where I blab on about morphs and stuff. I had some people come by to look at the racks and new herps, which was nice. It was a basic and lazy day today. I also have a Prego BP! A nice normal female multi-sired to a pastel and a Black Back just did her pre-lay shed! :) SO I should get a nice early clutch of BPs! I am trying to get a Black Back Pastel out of the deal. Fingers crossed! All in all a Great day! In about an hour I'll be listening in to Animal Talk Radio. Brian has been doing this show for a few weeks now, and it's great! Every Sunday from 6-8 @
www.animaltalkradio.com if you'd care to listen in! Hope everyone Enjoyed thier New Year, Take care!

The Room is 98% Done!! 12/30/09
Well this post will be shpt, cuz I need to catch some sleep. Today, a 2 year dream finally came into reality. My reptile room is just about 100% done! I just need to get heat for the baby racks and a few more tubs! Also a few more snakes and geckos! :P I am very excited to have my room finally coming together! I am very happy. Check out youtube tomorrow for new vids of the room, and tonite for some new ones I posted a few mins ago!
www.youtube.com/janddreptiles.com. I took a look at the vids I posted in the beginning of this year, to see the change is incredible... I made a lot of progress this year! 2010 marks the fnish line for my reptile room, and I can concentrate so much more energy on my herp care, rather than building more cages! Anyway, thanks again to all those who suported this decision to post blogs here! :)

1st Blog Post! :) 12/29/09
Well here it is..... the first Blog on the site! :) Thanks to all those who supported this decision! :) Well first off, let me just say, this is my personal Blog, where I post about my day here..... not just about the reptiles, but the day. Now I won't be posting everyday, but more often then on the company Myspace. Speaking of which if you haven't gone to it yet... GO! LOL!
www.myspace.com/janddreptiles.
Well let's see, today.... today went well.... was up early. A buddy of mine came in, who hasn't been in for about a year.... maybe more??? And was like WHOA.... what happened....lol. He also wanted some last minute tips on rack building, since he is making one soon himself. So that was cool. After that, I went to my buddy Zach's house for a get together with my fellow trumpeters. We reviewed some audition pieces, and just hung out.... it was nice to see everyone! When I got home... I did a bit of cleaning in the reptile room, checked emails, ate, and now here I am...lol. It was a decent day.
There is one thing I have to talk a bit about though. It has been bothering me for a while, and now is really getting ridiculous! 1st is drama within the online herp community. Mainly between younger herp keepers. They are supposed to be the future of the hobby, now I am not the oldest breeder, but these kids are like ahh F*** you and this person is a B****, and it's like.... really???? The community as a whole needs to get along, and that can't happen with all the crap. I'll be making a video tomorrow talking about my experience with the online community, and how people need to just bear with it and live! Look for the vid sometime later tomorrow.
The other thing that bugs me is having people who "think" they know what they are talking about try to tell me how to do my job. Now when I get advice from a fellow herp keeper, I'll listen.... if it sounds reasonable or applicable for what I have or am doing, I might give it a shot.... if not then I won't. But when someone who has very little experience tries to tell me how to care for something I have kept for almost 10 years?!?!?! I get a little ticked. I have said in my "about me" section, I have dealt with reptiles for a bit over 13 years.... I am not an expert, but I know what I am doing. If you have advice.... I'll listen, if you want to be like "don't do this because........" and you really don't know how long I have done this..... DON'T SAY ANYTHING! I don't let stuff like this bother me, but it really irks me when it happens, and it doesn't happen a lot, which is why when it does happen from that one radom "know it all" I get ticked off a bit.
Anyway, tomorrow, Jon and I, and some others (maybe) are building baby racks, the last 2 racks for the herp room. After that, I'll be taking vids.... so stay tuned on
www.youtube.com/janddreptiles for new vids! :) Thanks for reading my vent!
